Nadi Dosha Calculator
Nadi is the most heavily weighted koota in Ashtakoot Guna Milan — worth 8 of the 36 points. Each of the 27 nakshatras belongs to one of three Nadis: Adi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta) or Antya (Kapha). When both partners share the same Nadi, it is called Nadi Dosha and scores 0 out of 8; different Nadis score a full 8.
This free calculator generates both partners' birth charts, extracts each Moon nakshatra, maps them to their Nadi and reports the verdict — no signup, no data stored.
The three Nadis
| Nadi | Nakshatras |
|---|---|
| Adi | Ashwini, Ardra, Punarvasu, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Jyeshtha, Mula, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada |
| Madhya | Bharani, Mrigashira, Pushya, Purva Phalguni, Chitra, Anuradha, Purva Ashadha, Dhanishta, Uttara Bhadrapada |

Important: Nadi Dosha has well-known cancellations (e.g. different rashis with the same nakshatra, or strong scores in other kootas). Confirm with a qualified Jyotishi.
Formula
Nadi(partner) = Nadi group of birth (Moon) nakshatra. Same Nadi for both → Nadi Dosha (0/8). Different → 8/8.
Example
Partner 1 nakshatra = Ashwini → Adi Nadi. Partner 2 nakshatra = Rohini → Antya Nadi. Different Nadis → No Nadi Dosha (8/8 points).
