Kundli Matching
Kundli Matching, also called Ashtakoot Guna Milan, is the traditional Hindu compatibility check before marriage. It compares the Moon signs, nakshatras and planetary positions of two people across eight kootas to produce a score out of 36.
This free online kundli matching tool uses the Drik panchangam-js library to generate both birth charts and then runs an ashtakoot analysis. Enter the date, time and Indian city for both partners, and the tool returns the total score and a breakdown for Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi.
Important: This is a computational compatibility guide. It is not a substitute for family values, medical compatibility, legal advice or a professional Jyotishi.
Formula
Partner 1 Kundli = getKundli(date1, observer1) Partner 2 Kundli = getKundli(date2, observer2) Match = matchKundli(k1, k2) → ashtakoot total out of 36

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good Ashtakoot score?
A score of 18 or above is traditionally considered acceptable. 24-30 is very good and 31-36 is excellent.
Does a low score mean we should not marry?
No. Ashtakoot is one of many factors. Family, health, values and mutual respect also matter.
Is my birth data saved?
No. All calculations happen in your browser and nothing is stored on any server.
Can I match kundlis for same-sex or non-romantic partnerships?
Yes, the calculation is the same for any two birth charts.
